Pisgah Legal Services seeks to pursue justice by providing legal assistance and advocacy to help low-income people in Western North Carolina meet their basic needs and improve their lives. We provide free civil legal aid to people who live in poverty and improve systems and policies that impact the lives of thousands of low-income people. PLS does not handle criminal cases. We do not usually handle cases where a private attorney could receive a fee as part of money awarded by a court or agency. We do not usually handle personal injury cases, divorces, bankruptcies, property transactions, or traffic accident cases.

To qualify for help from PLS, you must meet our low-income guidelines. We determine if you qualify by looking at income, family size, assets, and living expenses. You must also have a problem that affects your basic needs.
