Bay Area Legal Services provides free civil legal help to eligible residents of our five-county service area. We generally assist only applicants who have limited income and assets, and who are permanent legal residents of the United States. However, eligibility exceptions may apply to seniors, domestic violence victims, and certain other qualified applicants.
We provide free interpreters for applicants and clients who do not speak English or have a hearing impairment.

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on holidays.

Serving Florida: Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties.

Bay Area Legal Services Plant City provides free civil legal services to low-income residents of eastern Hillsborough County, Florida. They offer a wide range of legal services, including:

    Housing: Help with evictions, foreclosures, landlord-tenant disputes, and other housing issues.
    Family and Children: Help with divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, and other family law issues.
    Abuse and Safety: Help with domestic violence, elder abuse, and human trafficking.
    Veterans: Help with VA benefits, disability claims, and other veterans' legal issues.
    Seniors: Help with wills, trusts, Medicaid, and other seniors' legal issues.
    Self-Help Resources: Provide self-help resources and legal information to help people understand their legal rights and options.
    Debt and Taxes: Help with debt collection, bankruptcy, and tax issues.
    Benefits and Health: Help with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other benefits and health issues.
    Disaster Relief: Help with FEMA appeals, insurance claims, and other disaster-related legal issues.
    Nonprofit and Small Business: Help with nonprofit incorporation, contracts, and other legal issues.
